I am sure you all got the very popular loom bands and a loom for Christmas, but in case you didn’t and are wanting to make some of the more popular style bracelets..here is how you can make your own loom at home for super cheap.

So here is what you will need to make your own loom at home:

  • piece of wood (a full size loom is 4″ wide x 13″ long and 1″ thick.  You can make it larger if you want the size of 2 looms.
  • thumb tacks (I got mine at the dollar store; 120 tacks for $1..you only need 36 tacks so this is enough to make 3 looms!)
  • a hammer
  • our loom template (click here to download it).

We have done all the measuring for you, each spot is 1″ apart in 3 rows.  If you want the full size loom, that is 12 pegs, so you will need to print the loom template 2 times and overlap the printed pages so that 12 of the spots show.

Then you simply need to tape the pages together and place them on the board and start GENTLY hammering in the tacks onto all the marked spots.

I only spent $1 to make it, but if you don’t have wood available you may have to purchase it.  A 10 foot piece of wood that is 4″ wide is pretty cheap, definitely under $10. ..and that is enough wood to make 9 looms!  Most hardware stores will cut the wood to length for you also for free.
